Pam’s Bright Story

Pam Lyddon is a bright spark in the marketing world who set up Bright Star Digital in 2010. She explains why she called The Thinking Woman’s Coach:

I was at the beginning of setting up my business. At that time I had 1 client, had gone from a secure job to working from home and started a new business, no suppliers  and more importantly in the middle of Britain’s worst weather for decades…I had met her previously at my old job and liked her from the offset she was very different to other coaches I had met through my media work… So, when I was in a panicked fog on, where to go and take myself and the business I called on Jessica).

What’s your view on your coaching experience with Jessica?

I liked was the fact that Jessica spoke to me like a friend which I found was very important. I have met coaches before who I have felt sounded like they are on the couch and I am not keen on that approach and that wasn’t was not needed….I needed to talk to someone who would talk to me as an equal and like a friend. She prompted me to think about things in a different way and we worked together to produce steps on moving forward, this was important as I felt I had to put this into action and then feedback to Jessica how it went. I liked the fact I had an action plan I felt it woke me up from my fog….She identified I needed a plan to move me on and it did, she was absolutely fabulous. What every woman wants!

Could you give us a flavour of what you talked about in your coaching session?

We discussed goals and how I could achieve what I needed to by taking specific steps. Another great piece of advice which I still do is to write down 3 positive things have happened that day with your business. It can really help clarify things and for me now it’s great looking back on what I have written.

What’s happening with you at the moment?

I am incredibly busy and the business is really successful and we have lots of high profile clients. I feel very lucky to be where I am – I want it to continue.

Anything else to add?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s very easy for me to say this but some women are scared to admit they are stuck or overwhelmed. It’s so important for yourself and your business to surround yourself with support. Jessica came at a time when I needed someone objective and who didn’t know me well for me to progress. It was hard for me to admit I needed someone to get me out of my fog.

That testimonial also rings true for me. When I was in a fog, you helped me see the wood for the trees. Instead of feeling like work or therapy it was more like chatting with my biggest fan. I always felt 10 ft tall when I got off the phone to you :0)

Thank you Lisa, that’s lovely of you to say. I’m impressed with your motivation and how you always seem like a tall person to me these days. What’s keeping you a tall poppy?
